How to Export a CSV from EQ Bank

The 2026 step-by-step method for downloading your EQ Bank Savings Plus, Notice Savings, or GIC account transactions as a CSV file — and how to turn that file into a full cashflow dashboard in under a minute.

The 5 steps

Export your EQ Bank transactions

  1. Sign in to EQ Bank

On a desktop or laptop, head to eqbank.ca and sign in with your email address and password. EQ Bank is a digital-only bank (a subsidiary of Equitable Bank), so there are no branches — everything happens online.

TipUnlike traditional banks that use a card number, EQ Bank uses your email address to sign in. If you're locked out, use the password reset option on EQ Bank's sign-in page — FlowVista can't help with EQ Bank login issues.
  2. Open the account you want to export

From the dashboard, select the account you want to export — your Savings Plus Account, Notice Savings Account, GIC, or Joint account. Click on it to open the account details page.

You'll need to repeat this for each account you want in FlowVista — but don't worry, you can upload multiple CSVs in one go later.

  3. Open Transaction History or Account Activity

On the account details page, look for Transaction History or Account Activity. This section lists all your transactions — interest payments, transfers in and out, and Interac e-Transfers.

TipEQ Bank's interface is modern and clean — the transaction list is usually right on the account page. If you don't see it immediately, look for a "View all transactions" or "See activity" link.
  4. Click the export/download option and choose CSV

Look for an export, download, or save button near the transaction list. Select CSV as the file format.

Then set the date range. Grab as much history as you can — FlowVista's forecasts get sharper the more data they have to learn from.

Heads upEQ Bank typically allows CSV export of up to 12 months of transaction history. For older records, you may need to contact EQ Bank support to request historical statements.
  5. Download and save the CSV file

Confirm the download. Your browser will save the file — usually to your Downloads folder — as a .csv file.

That's the file you upload into FlowVista. No spreadsheet tweaks needed — the FlowVista parser reads EQ Bank's format directly. Since EQ Bank's CSV format is straightforward, the import is quick and clean.

Pro tipIf you have multiple EQ Bank accounts (e.g. a personal Savings Plus and a Joint account), repeat steps 2-5 for each one. FlowVista de-duplicates transactions across uploads, so you can safely batch them all together.
EQ Bank is a savings-focused bank

EQ Bank is primarily a savings and GIC bank, not a full-service chequing bank. Your CSV will mostly contain interest payments, transfers in and out, and Interac e-Transfers — not the kind of day-to-day spending you'd see from a traditional bank.

That's perfectly fine for FlowVista. Many users pair their EQ Bank savings export with a CSV from their everyday bank (like RBC, TD, or Simplii) to get a complete picture of both spending and saving in one dashboard.

Troubleshooting

Common issues

I can't find the export or download button

Make sure you're on the account details page, not the main dashboard. Click into the specific account first, then look for the Transaction History or Account Activity section. The export/download option should appear near the transaction list — look for a download icon, an "Export" link, or a three-dot menu. Using a desktop browser is recommended, as the full export options may not appear on mobile.

My CSV only shows interest and transfers — where are my purchases?

That's expected. EQ Bank is a savings and GIC bank, not a traditional chequing bank. Most EQ Bank transactions are interest payments, transfers in/out, and Interac e-Transfers. There are no point-of-sale purchases or credit card transactions. If you want spending data in FlowVista, export a CSV from your everyday bank (like RBC, TD, or Simplii) and upload it alongside your EQ Bank file.

How far back can I download transaction history?

EQ Bank typically makes up to 12 months of transaction history available for CSV export. If you need older records, contact EQ Bank customer support — they can provide historical statements that FlowVista can also process.

Does FlowVista need a special CSV format from EQ Bank?

No. FlowVista reads the standard CSV that EQ Bank exports — including its column names and date format. Don't open the file in Excel before uploading; some versions of Excel silently reformat dates and break the import. Upload the raw .csv file as it came from EQ Bank.

Can I combine EQ Bank CSVs with exports from other banks?

Yes. You can upload multiple CSVs from different banks at once — EQ Bank savings alongside your RBC chequing, TD credit card, or any other bank. FlowVista de-duplicates across files by date, amount, and description, so you won't double-count anything.

Is it safe to download and upload my transaction data?

The CSV stays on your computer until you upload it. Once inside FlowVista, your data is encrypted at rest, protected by row-level security (so only your account can read it), and never shared with advertisers. FlowVista has no connection to EQ Bank — it only sees the file you chose to upload. Full details: Privacy Policy.
